Humber College / Norwich Win in Bermuda

Humber College, a varsity program from Toronto, proved as strong, fast and organized as predicted winning an extremely well contested final against Bermuda. Bermuda Women gave the Hawks all they could handle scoring first to take a 5-0 lead. Humber played tenacious defense all weekend. Their D proved to be too much for the Longtails of Bermuda. In the end it was Humber 22 Bermuda 5. Humber's Seconds defeated Colgate for third. Humber was impressive all weekend.

A team seeded tenth before the tournament began, Norwich coach Bob Weggler was quoted as saying, "this is the year we make it into the top eight at the Ariel Re Bermuda 7s." Top 8 and more for the Cadets of Norwich as Nate Rolling powered his team to a 10-5 victory over heavily favored Bermuda in the Cup final. In addition to leading his team to victory, Rolling graciously accepted the Mark Dombroski tournament MVP presented by the American Consul General Dieman.

In other finals, a strong Columbia side defeated Ohio State in the third place final, while the Chesapeake Selects took the Plate with a win over Loyola. Rowan dominated the Day 2 Bowl competition taking home the hardware.
